JPG Magazine is back – it was a sad day when they announced that they would be going away.  Thankfully they’re back and users are sharing excellent photos and content for upcoming issues.  The magazine is different from others in that all of the content is generated by people just like you and me.  It starts by sharing photos on their website based on the themes selected by the editors.  Once a photo is uploaded to a particular theme it is shown on the website and other users vote on which ones they like and leave comments.  The latest and greatest ones that fit within the theme are then published in the print magazine.  It’s a fairly simple concept and the results are amazing – some of my all-time favorite photos are ones that I’ve seen in past issues of JPG magazine.

So one of the themes that is out there right now is “Matrimony”.  Being a full-time wedding photographer I decided that this would be my perfect opportunity to start sharing with the JPG community.

Recently, Chris and I bought a ginormous bag of Skittles at Sam’s Club because…why not?  We were hanging out with our friend Mike, eating the ginormous bag of Skittles, when Mike asked me to give him a handful.  I reached into the bag, grabbed a few, and look what came out…

The stars were aligned when I fished out one of each flavor of Skittle…it wasn’t a miracle, but it did make us laugh. :)   Mike then popped all five Skittles in his mouth and ate ‘em right up.  Now that’s what I call tasting the rainbow!

We absolutely love our car…a Honda Element named Ele (pronounced “Ellie”).  Recently, on a long drive back from Evansville, I noticed that Ele was making an excellent shadow on the corn fields.  I grabbed the point-and-shoot and was able to fire a couple off before the sun set for the evening.  The rest is Lightroom and fun with color at 1:00 a.m… :)

It’s cold and snowing.  Luckily, I love winter :)

We’ve got some votive candles on our patio table that filled with water and have frozen and are now accumulating snow… kinda neat-o if you ask me.

So, everyone’s got to have a New Year’s resolution, right?  The past few years I haven’t made any resolutions because then it is much easier to not break them.  This year is different and I’m going to try my best to stick to one…

I’m going to take at least one picture each and every day.  I’m going to use the blog to post the photos and share them with everyone… now don’t jump on my case if I don’t post them every day but I’ll do my best to post them at least a couple times a week so that I don’t get too backlogged.

So with any good resolution there must be a beginning… Our dog, Abbey, loves to lay on pillows and blankets (better yet, a blanket on top of a pillow).  Audrey got up from the couch today and when she returned she found Abbey firmly planted in the middle of her pillow.

 Happy New Year’s to everyone!
