I’m not trying to start a heated debate or trying to be a male chauvinist pig but I found an interesting bit of social research on women changing their names.
Indiana University conducted a national survey to gauge the public’s point of view on women changing their names when they get married. Surprisingly, 71% of the respondents agreed that women should change their name to the man’s name to provide a single name for the family. The real kicker is that half of the respondents thought that there should be government regulation enforcing the name change!
